Pastor Brad Busiek
Brad became the Pastor of Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church in July 2015. Previously, he served as the pastor of Newell Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC from 2001-2015.
He grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated with a degree in biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. During college, Brad pitched for the school’s baseball team and worked at the Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Assembly, First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, and Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston.
Brad received his Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey in 2001. While in seminary, Brad served as a pastoral intern at First Presbyterian Church in Toms River, New Jersey, and as a chaplain at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
In 2024, he received his Doctorate in Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California with a focus on Leading Change. His dissertation was on "Building Community at a Faith-Related Food Pantry." Brad is married and has two children.
